On Wednesday, 5/10, I received “2023 Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Outstanding Community Service Contribution Award”. On Friday, 5/5, received an email from the Consulate General of Japan, New York that I was nominated for the Award. On Tuesday, I was told I was one of recipient and was told to attend the Award Ceremony on Wednesday. 5/10. At the ceremony, I met with an officer from the Consulate General, Mr. Tak Furumoto, 2022 recipient and Mr. Okamoto, 2018 recipient. The citation of the Award was given to me by James Tedesco III, Executive of the County of Bergen. It is an honor and pleasure that my past contribution to the community was recognized.
5/10（水）、NJ州バーゲン郡庁において、 “2023 Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Outstanding Community Service Contribution Award”を授与されました。5/5（金）に領事館より、賞にノミネートされたことの通知があり、5/9（火）には、授与が決まったので5/10(水）のセレモニーに出席するようにとの通知を受けました。当日は、領事館より了泉庵政務部長、2022受賞の古本氏、2018受賞の岡本氏とお会いし、賞状はバーゲン郡長のテデスコ氏より授与されました。リッジウッド日本人会元会長、NY徳島県人会代表、阿波踊り「ニューヨーク連」初代連長、NY 育英学園理事、NJ日本人会理事、合唱団による病院・養老院への慰問活動などの永年の貢献が認められたものと考え、大変ありがたく、名誉なことだと喜んでおります。
