I am starting to write also in English.
In 4 days, I am flying to Paris (CDG) from Philadelphia(PHL). For my daughter, Naoko, PHL is more convenient than JFK and we decided to leave from PHL and come back to PHL. I will drive to her place near Princeton, leave my car there and she will send me to PHL. My daughter and her husband, Barry will join me to walk Camino in Sarria on 8/31. So, they can take care of my car until then. After we finish walking Camino on 9/8, we will fly back together to PHL and I will drive my car home.
Took a walk to Willard School area for about 70 min. with Charlie, our dog.
Challenged to fill out French entry requirement called Passenger Locator Form. It must have been prepared by not a normal person and very time consuming material. First, resister an account with them and must answer at least 5 pages of questions. It asks numerous unnecessary questions such as what is the province of temporary address. I had to make a search to know Arles was in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur. This is an example of excessive and unnecessary use of digital media.
今日から英語でも書くことにした。必ずしも翻訳ではない。後4日で出発であるが、長女の尚子とご主人のBarryが、最後の100㎞を一緒に歩いてくれるとのことになった。このため、出発/帰着は彼らの家から近いhiladelphia にする。5/28に私がPrinceton近くの彼らの家に車で行って、車を置いておく。尚子に空港まで送ってもらい、帰りは彼らと同じフライトで着く。
夕方犬の散歩でWillard を回る。約70分。
フランスの入国様式の提出を試みる。あまり普通ではない人が考えた提出方法と思う。最初にアカウントを作れという。それから質問が始まるが、いろんな項目を選ばねばならない。現在の居住国、USAはリストの終わりの方にあるが、そこまでスクロールせねばならない。出発空港も何百とあるアメリカの空港のリストからPHLが出てくるまでスクロール。驚いたのは、フランスの中の臨時居住所を聞いていて、その住所のPrivinceはどこかという質問がある。今時アルルがProvence-Alpes-Cote d’Azurにあるとは知られていないのでこれは調べて回答。出発時刻は時計の針を動かして表示する。その時計がちゃんと動かない。よっぽどやめようかと思ったが、二時間ほどかけてやっと完成。最近気になるデジタルの乱用、不要な使用の例である。
