On March 14, the Government of Spain declared a 15-day, countrywide State of Alarm that severely restricts the movement of people and goods, as well as most commercial activity. Air, sea and land transportation will be reduced to at least 50 percent of regular frequency. Everyone in Spain, including U.S. citizens, is restricted from movement outside their home or place of temporary residence except for the following very limited purposes:
To obtain, food, medicine, and basic necessities
To obtain medical care
To go to and from work if you cannot telework
To return to your habitual place of residence (this includes travel to the airport for a flight to your home in the United States)
To assist and care for the elderly, minors, and vulnerable populations
To go to the bank, ATM, or other financial entity
To obtain gas for your vehicle
Due to force majeure or other emergency
