2022.0701.(Fri) L’Isle-Jordain-Gimont 23.8km 14.9miles
It was cloudy in the morning. From L’Isle-Jordain, took taxi for 7 km who came from Toulouse. Got off at Daugueres, the crossing of the Highway N124 and the Camino. For about 3 km on muddy trail, where a French guy (found out later that his name was Jean-Pierre) passed me. Arrived at Monferran where it became sunny and hot. Kept going and met with Jean Pierre, having lunch and joined him. He departed first and could not see him for he walked fast. Passed Giscaro and arrived in Gimont. Interesting town where the main street was built on the ridge. Jean-Pierre was staying at the same hotel.
朝は曇天。ホテルは村の中央広場にあり、サンドイッチを広場の店で調達。今日も20㎞をこえますので、最初の7kmをタクシーに乗りました。N-124とカミノが出会うDaugueresで降りて歩き出しました。後ろからきたフランス人男性 (後でJean-Pierreという名前とわかる) に抜かれました。Trail は泥状になっていて、3㎞ほどでMonferranに着くと、天気は晴れてきました。この村は教会の塔が高いのでよく覚えています。南側を西に行く農道にベンチがあるのも覚えています。農道が北転する角でJean-Pierreがランチを食べていたので、私も食べました。勿論、彼は先に食べ終わり、先に出発しました。9年前の記憶が時々蘇ってきます。小さいが美しい教会のあるGiscaroの村を通りすぎ、昔の村と村を繋いでいたであろう旧道を歩きます。カミノにはこんな旧道が多く、昔の人の息遣いまで聞こえるような気がします。高速道路新設によるカミノの変更標識があり、その通りに行くとD160にあたり、これを行くとGimontの村に入りました。メインストリートが高台の稜線上にあります。宿は受付と寝る場所が別で、Jean-Pierreも同じところに泊まっていました。
