Today is a resting day. However, I must have had something bad last night at the hotel restaurant. I felt sick all night, vomiting and suffered by diarrhea. Took medicine and got rest. I asked Dr. Raza to take me somewhere I can eat rice porridge tonight. Tomorrow, l will only walk 6.4km and ride taxi for 16.6 km.
Dr. Raza picked me up around 7:20pm and took me to a Chinese restaurant. It was Monday and was difficult to find a place open for business. To my surprise, Mrs. Raza and their first son also joined. I asked the chef of the restaurant to make porridge by writing character of 粥. He smiled and made one for me. We had very nice conversation because the son had been to Japan. The porridge seemed to have worked well for my stomach.
今日は休養日ですが、夜中に嘔吐しました。何か悪いものを食べたのかそれとも昼食が遅かったためかわかりませんが、下痢も続きました。このカミノの直前に日本に一時帰国していたＭさんに、無理を言って買ってきてもらったビオフェルミンが役に立ちました。それと、胃腸薬のPepto Bismolで、何とか症状はおさまりました。夕方、Raza先生が来るまで何も食べずに水だけで寝ていました。いくらでも寝られました。 Raza先生には、中華料理に連れて行ってもらいました。9年前に食べた店でしたが、サプライズで奥様と長男の息子さんも来てくれていました。中華料理店では、シェフに漢字で「粥」と書いたら、にやりと笑って作ってくれました。先生も奥様も一度NYに来て食事をしたことがあり、まだご子息は日本に旅行したことがあって、話は弾みました。
