The mouthguard was found by the hotel personnel. A cleaning person must have thrown it as trash without knowing.
Early in the morning, it was clear, but fog became dominant around 9 am. Because it is not safe to walk in the fog so I waited. At around 10, our area is almost clear, and I departed although the Col was still in the fog. The Camino yellow arrow appeared, and it made me realize this was Spain.
Follow the yellow arrow is much easier than consulting map or checking GPS. However, once you miss the sign, it is difficult to get back. The trail in this area was well designed and maintained very well. At Hospital Santa Christina, there was 3-star hotel and fountain. I’ve got a stamp. At this point, fog was all cleared.
Keep coming down and Canfranc Estation, there were new building, very large and long. This must be the building that Nicola (Miho’s husband) sang 2 days ago for opening festivity. I felt Canfranc Estation was a big city. I saw the entrance of railroad tunnel. Train still runs up to this Canfranc Estation, and when the railroad tunnel will be restored in a few years, the train will go through the tunnel and arrive at the first French station, Les Forges d’Abel. Today, only car highway goes into car tunnel here and goes out in France at Les Forges d’Abel. Saw few signs saying, ‘This way to France’.
It was getting hot and kept coming down to Canfranc Pueblo, a much smaller town than I thought. Finally arrived Villanua at around 5 pm. Felt it was a long day. The hotel no longer operated restaurant and I had to go into the village to eat.

早朝は晴れていたのですが、出発しようとする9時ごろには濃霧になり、歩くのは危険なので少し待ちました。10時ごろには視界500mぐらいになりましたので歩き始めましたが、峠はまだ霧の中でした。やがて、カミノの黄色の矢印がでてきました。これで、ああ、ここはスペインなんだという思いが沸いてきました。黄色い矢印を辿るのは地図を読んだりGPSを見たりするよりも易しいですが、一旦見失うと見つけるのが難しいという難点があります。このあたりのスペイン側のトレイルと道標はよく維持管理がされていました。Hospital Santa Christinaには3つ星ホテルと水場があり、スタンプを押してもらいました。この時点では、霧は完全に晴れていました。さらに下ると、崖の上Casa del Curaという建物が見えます。下って行くと、Canfranc Estation (鉄道駅であり、同時に町の名前） があり、大きくて長い建物がありました。Nicola（みほさんのご主人）が2日前のセレモニーでお歌いになったのは、この駅舎に違いないと思いました。いまでも、ここから南側は鉄道が営業中です。Canfranc Estationという町は、思いのほか大きいという印象でした。ここでは鉄道のトンネルの入り口跡があり、出口はフランス側のLes Forges d’Abelで、そこからはループトンネルでUrudos に降りていくようになっていたらしいです。今でもハイウェイフランス側N134、スペイン側はN330a）はLes Forges d’AbelとCanfranc Estasionの間がトンネルになっていて、「フランス行きの道はこちら」というサインが何か所か出ていました。カミノはアラゴン川をせき止めているダムのところで川面に降りて木の橋で東岸に渡ります。アラゴン川沿いに下りますと、支流からの沢に滝がかかっていて、若い女性が3人水浴びをしていました。写真は撮らないでというのでその通りにしました。西岸に渡り、橋の上で車に乗せていってあげるという人がいましたが、丁重にお断りしました。Canfranc Puebloの村を通り抜けます。思ったより小さな村でした。きれいなローマ橋でまた東岸に渡ります。ここからは、路面に石が多くなり、車道の下の低いClearanceの箇所を二度ほどくぐりました。いよいよ暑くなってきて、くたびれたと思っていると、Villanuaに着きました。峠にあるMonte de la Racaの山はここからでも見えました。
ホテルは食堂を止めたので、町中に食べに行ってくれといいます。食堂の名前を聞きいて出かけました。通行人にありかを聞くと、その食堂は今日は休みというので、別の食堂を紹介してもらいました。不親切なホテルだと思いました。アラゴンの道の第一印象はよくありませんでした。
