I knew from past Camino, the way to Fromista was enjoyable. Upon exiting Boadilla, tall and beautiful train of trees amused me. the Sky was overcast and wind was cool. Soon, met with “Do not enter” sign. But it continued to say “EXCEPTO PEREFRINOS”. The trail was on the bank of “canal de castilla” which reminded me of the canal in Toulouse, France. This canal obviously provided boat traffic to carry public and there was boat stop as I arrived in Fromista. Went across the canal by retaining door of water.
Went into the city of Fromista. Visited San Pedro Church which was open and got stamp. Then went to Church of Santo Martin, also got Stamp. Took lunch at the bar near Santo Martin and asked them to call taxi. I knew exiting Fromista was not fun. The trail was side by side with the car road all the way to Carryon des Condes, where I would be staying tonight.
Got off the taxi at Villacazar. There was a large church and mass was in progress. After few minutes, the mass was over and went in. It was quite an impressive church. Got stamp.
From there, I walked 6.7km to the hotel. Met with the Italian boy, Pietro, whom met the day before. He would be staying at the same hotel tonight. In the village, got stamp at the Santa Maria.
I’ve got 4 stamps today and need to slow down for I only have 12 more spaces on the credential before arriving Santiago.
Discussed with Mr. M regarding Facebook Live in length and decided to postpone until Aug. 20 in Leon, same time.
The hotel was converted from monastery and had two cloisters. To my surprise, it was 4 star hotel, first time on this Camino. I wanted to stay this hotel since my last Camino and very pleased it had accomplished.
BoadillaからFromistaに行くのは楽しいです。まずBoadillaを出ると、高い木の並木が続いていてとても美しく、しかも今朝は高曇りで風は涼しいという好条件です。ほどなく、進入禁止の道標がありましたが、巡礼は禁止の除外となっていて、何か特別扱いされているようで気持ちがよかったです。これは、カミノがカスティーヤ水路沿いにあるからで、一般人は通行不可、巡礼は通行可となっているものです。あとで分かったことですが、農業用水の供給とともに、水上バスみたいなのが水路を走っています。Toulouseのミディ運河を思い出させてくれましたが、あそこには水上バスはありませんでした。フロミスタの水上バス乗り場には、乗客が待っていて、サンチアゴまでいくのか、ご苦労さん、気をつけてと声をかけてくれました。フロミスタは、前のカミノの時に25㎞歩いてカストロヘリツから夕方遅く着いたので、教会を訪れる時間などはありませんでしたが、今回はゆっくりとサンペドロとサントマーティンの二か所を訪れました。教会前のバルでランチをしました。フロミスタは、入ってくるには美しいのですが、出ていくには、自動車道に並行する、まっすぐな道が、次の宿があるキャリオンまで続きます。こういう道はあまり歓迎しないので、一部Villacazarまで車に乗りました。Villacazarでは、ミサが終わるまで待って、教会を見せてもらい、スタンプをもらいました。キャリオンの宿まで7キロ弱の地点でした。ここからは道路わきのまっすぐな道をひたすら西へ向かいます。あとから来た男性が、なんと昨日Alto de Mostelaresの登りで会ったイタリア人の若者でした。彼の名前はPietroで、キャリオンの村まで足の遅い私に付き合ってくれました。キャリオンの村は、遠くからでも見えるのですが、なかなか着きません。やっと着いたら、教会が沢山あります。Pietroは、私と同じ宿に泊まるというので、先に行きました。私は教会を2つ回ってゆっくりと村を抜け、Rio Carrionを美しい橋で渡ります。宿は村から1㎞ほど離れておりますが、大きな修道院を改装したSan Zolloという宿で、クロイスターが2つあり、四つ星でした。宿自体が村のようになっていて、食事もいいものが出てきました。MさんとFacebook Liveについて、かなりの時間Discussしました。ここは、電波の状況がよくないので、8/20のLeonまで延期する事にしました。前回、この宿の前を通った時、ここに泊まりたいと思っていたのが実現して、嬉しかったです。
