Left the hotel right after 9 and kept going N-VIa. Passed Vega de Vercarse, where I stayed 7 years ago. Was able to see a castle of Saracen. I have to find out a story why Saracen did anything with this area. (At a later date, this was only information found in internet. there was no explanation of Saracen. “The castle was built around the 9th Century and was used by the Knights Templars to protect the pilgrim routes. The castle has been used until the 16th century and has been abandoned ever since.”) Passed the last village of Hospital and road started to ascent. About 1km, El Camino turned left and went into a dirt road. The trail was well built with constant gradient all the way to the top, O Cebreiro. Just about one hour from the dirt road started, arrived at La Faba and took a break. A Korean woman who lived in Tuscany (so she said) was serving. From here, non-stop to the top, O Cebreiro. The tiny village on top of the hill had a good picture-taking spot but no one was there when I arrived. So, I could not get anyone to take picture of me.
Checked in to the hotel, which was in front of small church. It was my understanding that the father of this church disseminated yellow arrow to show the way to pilgrims. 7 years ago, I passed this village in a hurry to arrive at Alto de Poio, 8.6km away. So this time, I took a good look of entire village.
ホテルを9時過ぎに出て、道路N-VIaを行きました。次の宿場、4㎞先のVega de Vercarseには一時間ほどで着きました。高速道路の高い橋脚があり、ここは前回泊まったところで、泊った宿を懐かしく見て通りました。この村の丘の上には、サラセン城と呼ばれるお城（の廃墟）が望まれます。調べてみましたが、”城は9世紀ごろに建てられ、サンチアゴ巡礼路を守るためににテンプル騎士団によって16世紀まで使用された。以後は使われていない。”とだけしかわからず、なぜサラセンという名前なのかもわかりませんでした。教会が開いていたので寄りました。古い巡礼路なので、Ruitelan, Herrerias, Hospital などの宿場が次々と現れます。宿場が終わったところで、道路は急な登りになります。1㎞ほど行くと、カミノは道路から左に入り、土の道になります。これよりO Cebreiroに着くまで、土の道は等勾配を保っていて、優れた道だと感心しました。土の道が始まってから一時間ほどで、La Fabaに着いたので、ランチをしました。バルではトスカーナに住むと（本人が）いう、韓国人女性がウェイトレスをしていました。ここから、写真を撮りながら、ガリシア州に入り、一気にO Cebreiroまで登りつきました。3時半でした。人口60人の山上の小村、O Cebreiroは、今まで登ってきた道を俯瞰する展望所があり、写真撮影にはもってこいの場所ですが、この時誰もいなくて私の写真を撮ってくれる人が見つかりませんでした。小さな教会の前の小さなホテルにチェックインしました。教会が開くのを待って入れてもらいました。前回は、ここには泊まらずに、8.6㎞先のAlto de Poioまで行ったので、ここは素通りしました。その理由は、次の日にSamosの教会が巡礼の讃美歌を歌うというので、そこまで行きたかった為です。それで、今回はつぶさに村中を見て回りました。この時、展望所でやっと人に遭い、写真を撮ってもらってFBに載せました。今は全国的に広がっているカミノの順路を示す黄色の矢印は、ここの教会の神父さんが始めたと聞いています。
