It was drizzling in the morning. Went to Orange departing Arles 9:48, 40 min. train ride to see Yasuko, who was the president of Paris Chapter of our Alumni Association. She, first took me to the arc of triumph that was built by Romans. It was well preserved but left half was deteriorating. Then, had a lunch in her neighborhood. NeXT major attraction was amphitheater, which was also built by Romans and this also preserved and still used as a theater. We talked about a lot of things about Orange, France, Japan, our school and its alumni association. Took 2:36 train back to Arles and sky was blue. Visited St.Julien Church and Notre Dame de la Major Church expecting some more stamps on the Credential but both churches were not open.
Went to a Japanese Restaurant for dinner and took Futomaki, not so fat and Ramen with more then plenty of wakame sea weed. Went to bed very early for the next day, first day of walk.
朝は霧雨が降っていました。9：40初の汽車でオランジュに行きました。同窓会パリ支部の康子さんに会うためです。まずローマ人が建てた「凱旋門」に連れて行ってくれました。よく保存されているようですが、左半分は彫刻がすり減っていました。それから、彼女のお住まいの近所のレストランで食事をしました。フランスのこと、日本の事、学校の事、同窓会のことなどを話しました。それから古代ローマの円形演技場を見学に行きました。今でも劇場として使われていて、夏には音楽祭が催されるそうです。2：36の汽車でアルルに戻りましたら、晴れていました。 St. Julien Church, Notre Dame de la Major Church に行ってみましたが、閉まっていました。アルルの円形演技場にも行きました。夜は日本料理を食べてみましたが、あまり気に入りませんでした。
