Upon leaving the inn around 9, I had to put poncho on. So far, the whether forecast was never right and I did not think it would rain. However, it was correct today. As I start walking along the Canal du Midi at 9:20, turned out to be a pouring rain. I kept going hoping it would ease but did not. An hour or so later, passed Pont de Donneville. The rain was getting ridiculous and tried to find some place with roof but the Canal du Midi was only Canal and path. Arrived at Ecluse de Vic around 11:30 hoping the bar was open. It at least had large umbrellas and I had small sandwich that the innkeeper reluctantly made for me last night. As stop walking, my body became cold but not able to go out under pouring rain. A half an hour or so later, the owner of the bar showed up. He declared it was closed because of Monday. However, he let me into the building. I had hot tea and felt relieved.
I asked him to call taxi to Toulouse and hi did. Taxi offered 45 euro and I accepted. Waited for 30 min. but taxi never showed up. He called again to find out the taxi was in accident and will not come. He, the owner of the bar offered me to drive me to Toulouse for 35 euro and I accepted it.
He drove me to Toulouse and I paid him 40 euro. Checked in to the hotel around 2:00. The receptionist refused to give me a room until 4:30 but I was patiently asking for mercy because I was wet. Another person, appeared to be the supervisor showed up and made an exception for me. I felt I survived after all. By this time, the sky was brightening but still showering.
After washing was done, I went out to the Catherdal of St. Sernin to get my pilgrimage authenticated. I knew there was a desk and a person at the Cathedral to take record of pilgrims who passed this city. My name and other matters were put in his book. I knew it because I was here in 2013 when I started my Camino from here.
Had a good dinner at The Kanteen, recommended by the hotel.

カミノ100日巡礼のうち、27日目です。

朝から土砂降りなのです。今日は運河沿いに21ｋｍを歩くという悲壮な覚悟を決めていたので、ポンチョを着て出かけました。明日は休養日だから、今日は少々着くのが遅くなっても何とかなるだろうと楽観もしていました。しかし、この豪雨です。最初の横断橋Pont de Donnevilleを過ぎるころには、土砂降り以上の滝のような雨になっていました。どこでもいいから雨宿りできるところを探しましたが、運河、土手の上の道、並木これら以外何もありません。出発から二時間ぐらい雨中で8ｋｍを歩いていましたが、ポンチョが役に立たなくなるほどに雨が激しくなり、ホントに困っていたところ、やっとVic水門 Ecluse de Vic が見え、ここにはBarがあると聞いていました。
ところが、なんということでしょう、今日は月曜日。フランスの月曜日は旅人にとっては鬼門です。食事のできるところはみんな閉まります。水門もBarもありましたが、水門開閉の係員がいるだけで、Barは閉まっていました。でも、Barのパラソルで雨宿りができるので、少しは助かりました。30分位大雨のなかで震えていましたが、そのうちBarのオーナーが店の様子を見に来たようです。今日は月曜なので店は閉まっていると言いましたが、中に入れてくれました。注文した熱い紅茶をいれてくれたので、ホットしました。ついでに済まないがタクシー呼んでくれと頼むと、電話してくれました。　Toulouseまで45ユーロと言っているが、いいかときくので、高いとは思いましたが、いいと言いました。しかし、30分ほど待てど暮らせど来ません。もう一度電話してもらうと、この豪雨でタクシーが事故にあい、いけないと言いました。オーナーは35ユーロだったら、ワタシが送っていくというので、是非、と頼みました。雨のなか、約30分でホテルに着きました。このオーナーは以前はレストランをやっていたことがあって、ホテル周辺のレストランをよく知っていました。40ユーロ払いました。とにかく、ずぶぬれになって冷えて氷の衣を着ている状態でホテルに駆け込みましたので、取るものもとりあえずシャワーをあびました。
シャワーと洗濯が終わってから、教会、Catherdal of St. Serninへ行きました。2013年に、ここから巡礼を始めた経験から、ここには巡礼専用のデスクがあり、名前と国を記録しているのを知っていたのです。記録してもらい、巡礼手帳にスタンプをもらって帰りました。夕食は、ホテルがいい所を紹介してくれました。
